Norwescap is a multiservice non-profit serving 30,000 low income individuals and families in Northwestern NJ. NJPRF’s $50,000 grant allowed Norwescap to provide 2,445 bags of food for 622 people and direct assistance to families in jeopardy of losing their homes.
NJPRF’s $100,000 grant disbursed early in the pandemic allowed Eva’s Village to continue to provide critical community support, serving 26,000 meals, expanding their telehealth services, and purchasing much-needed PPE for staff.
NJPRF’s $100,000 grant disbursed early in the pandemic allowed Trenton Health Team to partner with Mercer County, the City of Trenton, and healthcare providers to establish COVID testing, including a walk-up testing site in each of Trenton’s four wards.
The COVID-19 pandemic entered into our lives with ferocity in March 2020. New Jersey was one of the hardest hit states. Lives were dramatically changed.
Yet, the programs and impact of the NJPRF show that New Jerseyans rise to the challenge in a time of crisis. They came together and raised 65 million dollars. One year in, the Fund continues to raise money and award grants to meet the needs of the state’s most vulnerable.
Adversity has a way of bringing out the best in people. Once again New Jerseyans showed their mettle and proved that with purpose and commitment nothing is too challenging to accomplish.
*Thanks to generous sponsors who underwrote administrative and Jersey4Jersey concert expenses, 100% of funds raised for NJPRF programs go to nonprofit organizations in need.
